This Privacy Policy explains how Foozu Booking collects, uses, and protects personal data in connection with the Foozu Booking platform and the Google Table Booking integration, in accordance with GDPR and Finnish data protection legislation.

2. What Data We Collect

Restaurant opt-in registration: Restaurant name, email, phone, address, city, zip code, business ID, website, coordinates.

Customer table booking (via Google): Customer name, email, phone number, booking date/time, party size, special notes.

Opt-out request: Restaurant name, email, reason for opt-out.

3. Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing

We process personal data based on:

  • Contractual necessity — to fulfil table reservations made via Google Booking.
  • Consent — when a restaurant opts in to the Google Table Booking feature.
  • Legitimate interests — to maintain service quality, prevent duplicate bookings, and manage restaurant partnerships.

4. How We Use the Data

  • Process and confirm table reservations received from Google.
  • Notify restaurants of new, modified, or cancelled bookings.
  • Share required booking details with Google to complete the reservation flow.
  • Manage restaurant opt-in and opt-out requests.
  • Improve the Foozu Booking platform and related services.

5. Data Sharing with Google

As part of the Google Table Booking (Google Actions Center) integration, we share the following data with Google LLC:

  • Restaurant merchant details (name, location, booking hours, availability).
  • Booking confirmation status and reservation details.

This sharing is necessary to operate the integration. We do not sell personal data to any third party.

6. Data Retention

Booking data is retained for 24 months after the booking date, or until the restaurant opts out and requests deletion. Restaurant registration data is retained for the duration of the partnership and deleted within 30 days of a valid opt-out request.

7. Data Transfers Outside the EU/EEA

Booking data shared with Google may be transferred outside the EU/EEA. Such transfers occur only with appropriate safeguards in place (Standard Contractual Clauses) as required by GDPR Article 46.

8. Data Security

All data is stored securely with restricted access and encryption. Only authorized personnel can access booking and restaurant data. All API endpoints are served over HTTPS/TLS.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten).
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Data portability.

10. Cookies

The Foozu Booking platform does not use tracking cookies. Only technically necessary session data is used to operate the service.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL. We will notify affected restaurants of significant changes via email.
